The museum is placed in old 'ahalepola walawwa' near the Colombo-Ratnapura highway.2 or 3 km away from sapphire resort. 'ahalepola nilame' is a well known nilame who lived in The 'king Rajasinghe' time period. Ahalepola nilame and his family were killed by king Rajasinghe. After long time that bunglow was recreated as Ratnapura national museum. You can watch old royal furniture, clothes,some vehicales,gems,royal jewelleries and many more things you love to see. Recently under the government project 'Visit Sri Lanka' Ratnapura national museum was repaired. And now it has nice garden to have a lovely walk.
